Cristina Alvarez, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant | DENTON
Cristina earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University in 2009 and graduated with her Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy from Tarrant County Community College in 2012.
During her time at Tarrant County College, Cristina was featured in the school’s Projection Magazine introducing the PTA program to incoming students and was recognized for a published article in PT Motion Magazine. She has practiced in various settings including long-term acute care, home health care and has over 5 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. She has received her Level M1 Training in Graston Technique and is seeking an orthopedic specialty as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
As a Spanish-speaking therapist, Cristina is passionate about ensuring that her patients understand the benefits of physical therapy, particularly in their native language. This is especially close to her heart as there were few providers that could do this for her family after her father suffered a stroke in 2005.
In her spare time, Cristina loves spending time with her husband Emmanuel and two sons, Isaac and JJ. She is an avid long distance runner and soccer player.
Cristina joined our team at Velocity Physical Therapy in Denton in late 2019.
